About Us
Transitional Assistance & Design, LLC was founded in 2000 by Susie Danick to offer
compassionate and specialized services to members of the senior community in need of
assistance during a relocation or downsize.

Susan B. Danick R.N., B.S.N, CRTS:
Susie founded Transitional Assistance & Design in 2000, after moving her grandmother into an assisted living community.
The community was so impressed by her skill and level of service; they asked if she would be interested in assisting with
moves for their other new residents. After her first few moves, Susie knew she had found her niche, and Transitional
Assistance was born.
Susie is a native of the Washington, DC metro area, and a graduate of American University’s School of Nursing. She spent
many years practicing at area hospitals and doctors offices, where she specialized in women’s health. Before nursing school,
Susie majored in art and has always possessed a passion for design and decorating. Now, as sole owner of Transitional
Assistance & Design, she brings years of compassionate care, along with a keen eye for design, to her growing list of
clientele. She is a Board Member of the National Association of Senior Move Managers and a Certified Relocation and
Transition Specialist.
Joel Danick:
Before joining his wife in business in 2005, Joel had spent the previous 20 years serving on executive teams of local upscale
supermarket and restaurants chains, including posts as COO of Balducci’s/Sutton Place Gourmet, Regional Vice President of
Whole Foods Market, and Partner of the popular Washington DC lunch eateries, High Noon. Also a native of the Washington,
DC area, Joel’s experience in customer service relations, organization and logistics, along with his strong network of local
business contacts, provide Transitional Assistance & Design with the support that their growing client list deserves.
